Remixing Since Forever
Ice cream is fun, so we take it very seriously.
A sweet partnership
Ice cream maker William Dreyer and candy maker Joseph Edy formed a sweet partnership in 1928. Together they created Edy's & Dreyer's Ice Cream. Families have included Edy's & Dreyer's in their biggest and smallest moments since then. From grandiose reunions to a quiet, rainy Sunday afternoon under the covers - our flavors bring people together. Moms. Dads. Kids, Aunts. Uncles. And BFFs. You're on our minds. We love dreaming up new ways to surprise you. Tinkering away in our test kitchen - combining real, high quality ingredients. The way we see it, every scoop is a chance to get somebody to stay for dessert, and sweeten the moment.
The invention of Rocky Road
As the Great Depression hit, Edy and Dreyer wanted to create a special new flavor to make folks smile. They mixed together rich chocolate ice cream, crunchy almonds and chewy marshmallows. Rocky Road was born! In a time when Chocolate, Vanilla & Strawberry were the main available flavors, this was revolutionary!
A sweet collection of remixes
In honor of William Dreyer and Joseph Edy's creation of Rocky Road, one of the first ever ice creams with mix-ins, Edy’s and Dreyer's launched its most indulgent line ever: The Rocky Road Collection. Loaded with mix-ins and sauces, this new collection will be sure to put a smile on your face!
The next big thing
Continuing with the Edy and Dreyer legacy, we creatively look for ways to introduce new flavors and flavor combinations to inspire the next generation of pioneers. Edy's and Dreyer's are trademarks of Société des Produits Nestlé S.A., used by permission.
